<!-- readfile DATAFILE --><center><table cellpadding=60" width=700 background="http://youjung.netzoaz.com/data/pims/cabinet/myphoto/203/scent_of_classica.jpg"><tr><td><center><img src=http://galleryimage.naver.com/1/2003-07/09/03/36m235m2.jpg><br><br><br><font color=brown>마리아 (Maria) : 예수 그리스도의 어머니.<br><br>가톨릭·동방교회 등에서는 성모(聖母) 또는 성모 마리아라고 존칭한다. 신약성서에 의하면 갈릴리 지방 나자렛 마을에 살았고, 목수 요셉과 혼약하였으나 천사의 계시로 처녀잉태하였다. 출산이 임박하여 헤로데왕의 호적 일제조사 명령이 내려 베들레헴으로 갔으나 숙소를 잡을 수 없어 교외의 동굴 안에 있는 마구간에 들었다가 거기서 예수를 낳았다. 그런데 헤로데가 베들레헴에 장차 왕이 될 아기가 태어났다고 찾아온 동방의 박사들의 이야기를 그대로 믿고, 이 영아를 죽이려고 하였기 때문에 화난을 피해 일단 이집트로 피신했다가, 후에 나자렛으로 돌아와 그리스도가 공(公)생활을 시작하는 30세 무렵까지 그 곳에서 조용한 생활을 보냈다. 그리스도가 하느님 나라의 복음을 전하다가, 마지막에 십자가에 처형되자 그 십자가 곁에서 끝까지 그리스도와 함께 고통을 나누었다. <br><br>
현재 가톨릭의 교의(敎義)에 의하면 마리아는 죽은 후 부활하여 하늘로 올라갔는데, 이것을 ‘성모 몽소승천’이라고 한다. 성모 마리아에 대한 신심(信心)은 초대교회 때부터 성(盛)하여 구세주의 어머니로서 숭배되었고, 은총의 중개자로서도 존경의 대상이 되고 있다. 따라서 마리아를 기리는 축일도 많은데, 주의 봉헌축일(2월 2일), 성모의 원죄 없으신 잉태(12월 8일)가 그 주된 것이다. 예로부터 마리아는 회화 ·조각 ·음악 등의 소재가 되어, 화제(畵題)로서는 《성모 영보(聖母領報)》 《성모자(聖母子)》 《피에타》 등이 알려져 있으며, 걸작이라고 할만한 작품도 헤아릴 수 없이 많다. 음악에서는 아르카텔트나 구노의 가곡 《아베 마리아》가 유명하다. <br><br>
* 아베 마리아는 그리스도교의 가장 대표적인 성모 찬가로, 고금의 작곡가의 손에 의해 수많은 작품이 만들어졌습니다. 가사는 라틴어로 되어 있고 루가 복음의 전반부와 15세기 중반 성 베르나르도의 시로 이루어집니다. 또한 아베 마리아는 가톨릭 교회의 주요 기도문 중 GLORIA(대영광송), CREDO(사도신경) 등과 더불어 가장 많이 인용되는 천사의 축복, 성모 영보 때의 마리아에 대한 찬미와 사촌 엘리사벳의 축하 노래가 어우러져 이루어진 기도문을 아름다운 선율로 옮겨 놓은 것이기도 합니다.<br><br>
